My Week In Pictures #6: A Slow Week, Resolutions Update And Being Poorly

FromTop, L-R: Weight loss progress! My dogs looking seriously guilty after they all found a muddy puddle to roll around in! A beautiful Orchid (my favourite flower!) My new make up area

From Top,L-R: Two new pairs of Jammies for under a tenner in the sales, Lemon and lime water, How i'll be spending my Sunday afternoon - catching up on reading blogs and eating chocolate!

Firstly, please forgive that i've used a few of my own Snapchat photos in this MWIP post, but they were in my camera roll and were two of the highlights of a very boring week!
I've had a pretty slow week this week on account of everyone being back to work after Christmas and just being ill and exhausted. I've spent most of the week lounging around on the sofa trying to get rest and a little extra sleep, though I can never seem to sleep during the day, it just seems weird to me to be asleep when its bright out and when there's things I should be doing! I'm starting a two week course of injections for Vitamin B12 deficiency on Monday as my levels are seriously low and have been for years but it went undetected, so fingers crossed that they fix a lot of problems I've been having health wise! Honestly if all they do is fix my energy levels I'll be so happy.

Speaking of health, one of my resolutions this year is to get on top of my eating, I've decided the best way to do it is start off slowly, and add new things in and take things away gradually, because every other time I've tried to get my diet in order I've taken on too much all at once and it never works. I've read a few places that doing it slowly and gradually is more likely to make you see a healthier diet as a habit and not as a "diet" so that's the approach I'm taking. The first change I'm making is to cut out fizzy drinks. I'm a serious Coke drinker a habit I picked up from my ex, funnily enough I hated the stuff before I met him! So I'm trying to drink more water, and I get bored of it pretty easily so last night I made a jug of lemon and lime water hoping the flavour in the water will help me drink more! Plus its supposed to be cleansing, make you eat less and I could do with the extra Vitamin C!

As for updates on other resolutions, I've not broken any! But I haven't exactly jumped into any of them either! Though I have kicked myself into applying for a Childcare course which starts in March, I'm really hoping to get it as m job search is still turning up absolutely nothing. I've had a few interviews, but it's making me so discouraged, I think it's my anxiety that's failing me when it comes to the interview stage of things. So I'm thinking maybe going in a new direction and re-training in something I'm interested in and good at will boost my confidence, who knows? But it's worth a try!

On the blog front, I've a lot of ideas and I'm planning on doing another giveaway soon. I'm not fully decided on what I'll be giving away yet, I have a few ideas but if there's anything you'd love to see as a prize in a giveaway leave a comment and let me know! I really enjoyed doing my last giveaway, though it was only a small one I want to do a much more exciting one this time around because I know how to run one now!

Before I go, this week I built myself some shelves and I'm sort of using it as a make up storage/vanity area, and I was looking at the Muju acrylic type storage that they have on eBay. I know a ton of bloggers and you tubers use this type of storage but to any of you that have the same kind of set up, is it really worth investing in it? I really want to organise my make up better and am thinking of getting something along the lines of the Muju storage. What I have at the minute is ok, ( you can see it in the photos above) but I just want to have everything laid out better. If anyone has any posts about how they store their make up leave a link in a comment because honestly, I'm obsessed with getting my make up area organised at the moment!

I hope you have all had a good week, and aren't finding getting back to normal a pain after the holidays!

FOTD #4: Jingle Bells

Merry Christmas!

:)

Wasn't going to post today, but I did my hair and make up today and thought why wouldn't I post a Christmas FOTD?
While two face of the day posts in a week may be a bit much, It's the one day of the year where I'm guaranteed to make a bit more of an effort than usual - so why the hell not?

So I'm going to run through this as quick as I can, because I can smell dinner and if I'm called for it, I can't guarantee that I won't fling my laptop onto the floor to make sure I get into the stuffing before anyone else can claim it!

I did my base, using Revlon Colourstay foundation today because my skin is having serious oil issues.
I then used my Maybelline The Eraser concealer under my eyes to hide the bags - no actually, the suitcases that I have been carrying around lately!
Then I covered any blemishes and redness with Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. All stippled on with my Real Techniques complexion sponge.
I topped all this off with a dusting of Maybelline 24 hour Super stay powder, my go to powder when my skin is acting up oiliness.

I contoured a little with my Dainty Doll blush in Money Talks, which is a great contour shade if you're of the same milk bottle white complexion as me! Next I popped Benefit's Rockateur on my cheeks, and then I lightly highlighted the tops of my cheekbones with MAC's Soft and Gentle.

For my eyes I broke out my Naked 2 palette, I used Tease in my crease, YDK all over my lid, Busted in my outer corner to darken it up a little, Bootycall as an inner corner highlight and I placed busted on my bottom lash line and lined my upper lash line with my Stila smudgestick in Damsel. To finish it off I then I applied 2 coats of my favourite mascara Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes to my lashes and lightly filled in my brows.

I was going to finish it off with a festive red lip, but I did that yesterday check my Instagram if you want to see that.
Today I opted for something softer, and choose my No7 Lip Crayon in Delicate Pink. I thought seeing as my eyes are a lot darker than I usually go for that the red may have been too much so this shade balances everything out!

Also, for an even more festive look - top it all off with a reindeer headband!

So I may not be leaving the house, and I may not get out of my pyjamas today, but at least my make up is done! ha ha!

I hope you're all having a lovely Christmas!
I'm about to go and eat a lot of turkey and ham and watch Christmas films with my daddy for the rest of the day, looking forward to seeing what you all did today!

How I Spend Christmas Tag

First thing's first - Happy Christmas Eve!

So, while scrolling through my reading list today, I came across the "How I Spend Christmas Tag" on Hannah's blog Hannah Heartss
I decided I'd give it a go as there's no harm trying to get yourself into the spirit of things even more!
So if you're not in a festive mood yet - which, let's face it, you should be! It's Christmas eve! Hopefully this will help!

What are you usually up to on Christmas eve?

Christmas is going to be very different for me this year, the last six Christmas eve's I spent with my boyfriend, having a cosy night together watching Christmas films maybe wrapping last minute presents and eating junk food. We broke up back in October so this year I'll be making my own new traditions!

Who do you spend your Christmas day with?

Up until this year, it was with my ex's family and we'd spend New Year with mine, but this year I'll be spending it with my Dad, younger brother and my best friend Donna who is staying with us this year.

Do you enjoy giving or receiving gifts?

I enjoy both equally, I find I love giving gifts a lot more the older I'm getting.
I don't give to receive gifts, but I love when people think enough of me to spend time picking and wrapping something for me. It makes you feel special.
I think that's why I put so much time and effort into getting other people's gifts, I want them to know that they're loved and appreciated. There's nothing better than seeing someones face when they open the gift you gave them!

What does your outfit consist of on Christmas day?

Usually I buy new clothes for Christmas, I didn't this year though I did want a Christmas jumper but couldn't find one I loved! So I'm unsure of what I'll be wearing.
I do make an effort on Christmas day, though I don't leave the house you can guarantee I'll be as dolled up as I can be!

Do you enjoy shopping for your loved ones gifts?

Oops! Kind of answered this already in the second question! But yes - I love doing it! :)

Have you ever received a gift you didn't like but pretended you did?

I can honestly say there's nothing I haven't liked that Ive been given!
Not even that time my brother wrapped up a packet of Rolo's and gave me them as a Christmas present ha ha! It was all he could afford at the time as he was only 10 or 11 but it was funny and very sweet!

What would your ideal Christmas be?

Spending time with my family, eating Christmas dinner, watching films and eating junk food in front of a fire - heaven!

What is your least favourite thing about Christmas?

How stressed people get over it! I remember people being a lot more relaxed about Christmas when I was younger and it's only in recent years I've noticed how crazy people get. It's a time for relaxing and being happy not a time for making yourself ill with stress!

What is the best gift you have ever received?

There's so many! Most memorable from when I was younger are my Nokia 3310, which was my first phone and probably the most excited i'd ever been about anything because I didn't even ask for it and didn't expect it because I knew it was expensive so I was so surprised!  Other memorable ones are my game boy colour and my big teddy Nelly who is an elephant, my oldest sister got her for me when I was 5 or 6 and I still have her!
More recently, I'd say last year when someone really surprised me and bought me a lot of the make up I was after, still can't believe he actually went up to an Urban Decay counter and knew what he was looking for! ha ha

If you could choose one person to spend Christmas with who would it be and why?

I don't really know who I'd choose. I'm more than happy to spend Christmas with my Dad and brother, the only thing that would make it better is if my two sisters and my niece and nephew were living in Ireland too, because I'm sure they'd be there too!

I tag anyone who wants to do this tag! Leave a comment with a link to your tag below if you do it so myself and others can take a look!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas Present Haul

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

I have been really looking forward to doing this post as i pretty much got everything that I wanted for Christmas this year, cant believe how lucky I was. I was well and truly spoilt. I wont be going into too much detail with swatches etc, because I want to do individual posts for a few of the things also I'm not posting photos of everything I got, just a few of my main presents and theres a couple of pretty exciting ones! :)

Urban Decay Vice Palette

Ahhh! Behold the amazingness that is The Vice Palette! This is one of the two palettes that my boyfriend got me, he went a little crazy this year and bought me pretty much everything I mentioned I wanted which is insane but so sweet too. Anyway I had been dying to get my hands on this and it really hasn't disappointed me, 20 brand new UD shades, I'm in love!
He gave me this palette a few weeks ago, so I've had time to play around with it, and seeing as its limited edition, I'll post a full review on it in the next few days in case they become hard to find and anyone needs help making up their mind about it.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

This is the other palette that Noel got me. I have the original Naked palette too, and I was torn for ages weather or not I wanted or even needed this one too. I have to say that I'm actually really liking this more than I thought I would, and that the cooler toned shadows of Naked 2 suit me better than the warmer toned Naked palette. Haven't played with this enough yet to be one hundred percent on it, but so far so good!

Daisy Eau So Fresh By Marc Jacobs

Daisy Eau So Fresh is my all time favourite perfume ever! I ran out of it in September just before my sister's wedding and I've been lost without it. So I was so happy and surprised when my boyfriend gave me this big ass 125ml bottle! I didn't even know they came bigger than 100mls! This will probably last me until next Christmas now, and I wear this everyday its such a strong scent that one or two sprays is all you need so this will last me ages.

Wasn't going to put this one in, but I thought why not? lol My boyfriend's sister got me a Charlie Pink perfume set. While I'm not sure if I like the scent or not, it came with a Revlon nail enamel in Sweet Tart, which is the same colour as one of my favourite Revlon Lip Butters, so I thought that was cool and deserved a mention.

That's my main presents I got, I got a good few bath sets, some DVDs, a McFly greatest hits CD which I can't stop listening to - reminds me of being 14 and being in love with McFly! lol! I also got money off my dad too that will probably most likely be spent on more make up very soon!

I haven't managed to get out to any of the sales yet, but I am hoping to. Would love to hear what you all got for Christmas and anything you bought in the sales too, so do leave a comment below, with a link to your post or even just a list of what you got! :)
