Review: MAC Plumful Lipstick

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I last posted anything. I've been having a hard few weeks and my head has been all over the place and I haven't wanted to do anything, my heart just wasn't in it and when my heart isn't in it there's no point in me just throwing a post together for the sake of doing it. I enjoy posting on my blog and don't want to do it half arsed. So now that you know why I have been quiet - let's get on with it!

I met up with my friend from college that I haven't seen in ages and we went shopping in Dublin. After a whole day of shopping this is all I bought! Well, I didn't buy it my boyfriend did his usual sneaky throw money at the sales assistant before Mairead (that's me!) gets a chance to realise what I'm doing thing that he always does. Anyway, I've been dying to get a MAC lipstick and this is my first one! I have a few that I have liked the look of for a long time but for some reason this one was jumping out at me in the MAC shop and I just had to get it.

Top: Heavy swatch, Bottom: Light swatch

Plumful looks darker in the bullet than it does in swatches and on the lips. It looks down right scary in the bullet, but don't let that put you off, it's a really beautiful pinkish plum shade that can be used a few ways. In the MAC shop one of the make up artists there applied it to my lips using a lip brush and holy crap did it come out really dark! It wasn't for me, but if you like making a statement and are confident enough to pull of a deep lip colour it's a really nice way to do it. Personally I just use a really light hand with this one. When used lightly the colour isn't that far away from my own natural lip colour so it gives me a 'my lips but better look'. This is also a really great shade for putting on your lips and blending in with a finger ever so slightly to give a subtle berry stain.

This is a Lustre finish lipstick from MAC, and though its not the worst it can be a little drying so if your lips are chapped make sure you use an exfoliator or a balm before hand. Also MAC lipsticks smell like vanilla, not like a fake vanilla but like you are actually smelling vanilla out of a vanilla extract bottle. Personally I love the smell, but if you don't like scented products its something to bear in mind when deciding if you should shell out €18 for a MAC lipstick.

I really love this lipstick and next time I'm in Dublin I'll be picking up a few more because they are now my new obsession! Tell me your favourite MAC lipsticks and link any posts you may have on them, there's so many colours that I cant make up my mind what to get next so any and all suggestions are welcome! :)
